Hello Beauties!
My name is Priyangi (Pree-yung-gee) or Pri – never Priya. I was born and raised in one of the most culturally and ethnically diverse neighborhoods in NYC, Queens. I had the opportunity to live in the Midwest for a few years and now I’m back on the East Coast in Connecticut. Having had the opportunity to live and learn from people in different regions of the world, I value celebrating what makes us unique.
My educational background in Science, specifically genetics and molecular biology, which has allowed me to understand and to value the genetic differences that makes each of us unique human beings. I was also a former beauty consultant where I was able to help different people find the products that helped them feel their best. I created this website as a way for us to understand that we have many similarities, especially when it comes to cosmetics and skincare issues within People of Color. Growing up (sometimes even now) I struggled with trying to find people going through similar skin issues as me or even how certain shades look.
After being diagnosed with Pityriasis alba (hypopigmented patches) on my face, I had a terrible experience with a “celebrity” dermatologist. I realized that no one should ever feel embarrassed or inconsequential. We are all human beings but it is through our unique ancestral DNA, or genetic makeup, that we have come to have our eye color, hair color, skin texture, etc. and instead of trying to make any human being feel less important, we should be celebrating our differences as well as helping others who may have similar issues. I aim to do this by providing a space for people to share the beauty and skincare products that have worked for them.
