Hey Beauties!
So I have done the most this year to my poor hair and I finally just got it to a point where it is healthy again! All through the quarantine last year due to Covid, I wasn’t one of those people who actually got to work from home. That’s right, your girl was trekking inside the city (NYC) from CT to go to my job at the hospital by the Metro North and the almost-empty subway system! What an insane time we all went through. I didn’t even bother trying to look cute for work because it became about getting the work done and then they’d send us home immediately afterwards with no breaks or lunch breaks. So the easiest thing I could do with my hair was to put it up in a tight ballet bun so I could quickly change in to and out of my scrubs at work. After almost a year of only doing tight buns, I bet you can imagine all the breakage I had! Once I finally got a break earlier this year, I decided to treat myself by getting a chocolate balyage…. But the hair stylist made me caramel even though I had shown her many, MANY photos of what I wanted. I came home and was so upset at how light it was that I took a box dye to my hair to try and fix it. Then a month or so later, I went to my fave hair stylist who finally fixed for me (three weeks ahead of my wedding!) but she commented on how incredibly damaged my hair was!
So it has been a six month journey of using the best hair care products that has truly worked for my hair so I wanted to share with you guys how I finally got healthy hair again after all the stress I put it through. First of all, I realized how important it was to buy high quality hair tools! I was still using drugstore hair curlers and I finally understood the damage it has caused after years of not splurging. I have been using the Dyson hair dryer along with and switched to Olaplex and wow, what a difference! I hadn’t realized how much other shampoos had deposited on my hair to point where it felt heavy. I guess I had gotten used to it and didn’t notice a different until after a few washes with Olaplex! I am not saying to spend hundreds and hundreds on your hair BUT it is important to find the best tools and products that work for you, and sometimes it is the more pricey option but it seems like it can totally be worth it in the end! I would speak with your hair stylist to get some recommendations for your hair.
