Hey Beauties!
Being on vacation is such a vibe! Obviously, you still want to look and feel your best but I think the trick to perfect makeup on vacation, specifically on a tropical vacation, is that less is more. We were recently in beautiful Mexico and while I brought my entire makeup kit, I found that I kept reaching for my pressed powder instead of my foundation. It is nice to give your skin a little break from our normal makeup routine when we are going to work and then refreshing our look again when we are meeting friends for drinks after work. But on vacation, you can quite literally just sit back and relax. I like to choose one area of my face to focus on as far as makeup when I am on vacation, whether that’s my brows and mascara or just a bright lipstick. As far as my face, I like to do a light pressed powder applied with a brush.. the trick is to look dewy and not sweaty haha.
Here are some of my fave press powders (and even one foundation) while on vacation!

Sun PROTECTION
SPF is so important! Here are my two absolute faves. This is my usual every day moisturizer but I love that it has a high spf which makes it perfect to use while on a tropical vacation as well – Supergoop! Superscreen Daily Moisturizer Sunscreen SPF 40+++ . For the body, I am obsessed with the CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 Body Lotion. For my more pigmented beauties, this one doesn’t leave a white cast! You’ll just have to rub it into your skin really well.
If I am just gonna be laying on the beach then Supergoop! Glow Oil Body Sunscreen SPF 50 PA ++++ keeps me glowy and protected.
I use the Supergoop! PLAY 100% Mineral Body Mist SPF 30 with Marigold Extract to refresh my SPF application throughout the day.
FACE
I love the Mac Cosmetics Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation because it leaves the perfect matte natural look that you can rock by the pool or at the beach! It is such a light formula that it pairs well to tone down any shininess that SPF may leave.
Another lightweight formula that is great for the beach is the YSL Nu Bare Look Tint which also has hyaluronic acid and comes in a wide shade range.
EYES
Usually, I don’t really like waterproof mascara but if I am planning on spending the entire day at the beach or possibly taking a dip at the pool, waterproof mascara is definitely the way to go. No raccoon eyes here! I just use the waterproof version of my fave every day mascara – Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara.
Matte eyeshadow is my go to so that my eyelids don’t end up looking too shiny. I always bring this eye shadow palette with me on tropical vacations because of the size and the colors. I usually like eye shadow palettes to have black as one of the colors, but I don’t mind this one since I prefer a softer look for the beach – NYX Cosmetics Lid Lingerie Shadow Palette.
This is one of my fave matte eyeliners (make sure the color is Matte Black) – Maybelline Master Precise All Day Liquid Eyeliner Makeup
LIPS
It is so easy to forget about protecting our lips when we are on the beach or even just out and about. This product is great because it provides protection while still giving a sheer tint – Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Balm Sunscreen SPF 15
BODY
On top of my SPF, I loved the the beautiful shimmer that Fenty Beauty Body Sauce Body Luminizing Tint! It leaves my skin so glowly so it’s perfect for the pool or the beach, and for any Insta photoshoots haha.
HAIR
Natural beach waves are the best! I love the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil is my fave product to keep my locks shiny without weighing it down.
